Join The Honor Oak Wellness Rooms and our yogis Lynne and Fern in the stunning Norfolk countryside for a transformative weekend retreat this autumn. The luxury eco retreat venue West Lexham will provide the nurturing environment for you to deepen your personal practice. Lynne and Fern will lead twice-daily yoga classes and meditations, within which we will explore and play with our edges, as well as cultivate the space for mindful release and relaxation. There will be time to immerse yourself in the breathtaking surroundings, nourish yourself with delicious vegan and vegetarian food and explore more creative forms of wellness through an Autumn floristry workshop on Sunday. You will come away feeling rebalanced and reconnected to yourself.

Nr. Kings-Lynne. West Lexham is a 2-hour drive from London, 75 minutes from Cambridge and 45 minutes from Norwich. Nearest train station is Downham Market, trains run from London Kings Cross. The amazing venue is set in a protected valley with the UK's cleanest chalk stream and the most wonderful lakes bursting with nature.

Twice Daily Yoga Class

The yoga classes are for all levels, with several options given so there is something for everyone. Fern and Lynne aim to create a supportive and nurturing environment within which students can safely explore and deepen all layers of their yoga practice, and reconnect to themselves. The morning practice will begin with a 30-minute meditation, followed by a 90-minute energising vinyasa flow practice. The evening classes will be more restorative in nature to encourage a deep softening and unfurling of both body and mind.

Autumn Floristry Workshop

King-Wey from Alright Petal Flower will be teaching you how to make your own hand tied bouquet using seasonal flowers and foliage, taking inspiration from the seasons and the environment that surrounds us.

We will create an environment where you feel free to experiment and to try new things. As well as creating your own floral masterpiece to take home, we will be discussing how creativity and mindfulness often go hand in hand, and how slowing down to notice the beauty that surrounds us can inspire happiness and wellbeing.

 

About West Lexham, Norfolk

Let the nature of West Lexham soothe your body and soul, achieving tranquility on their 21 acre countryside. Set in a protected valley with the UK's cleanest chalk stream it is verdant and bursting with nature. The venue has floating water meadows, ancient trees, lakes and formal gardens for you to explore. They also run 90% on renewables with solar panels for power and a wood-chip boiler for heat, guaranteeing you a sustainable weekend. All the water is fresh from the chalk aquifer making it rich in minerals and that much more delicious to drink. The heritage buildings and hand crafted furniture lift the spirits and inspires people to unwind and develop their full potential. It is truly a wonderful place to spend a weekend switching off, unplugging and rebalancing yourself for the year ahead. 

 

The luxury en-suite twin rooms combine rustic charm with funky modern twists. Many original features have been maintained and the materials used – wood, stone, clay – as well as the art decorating, the walls reflect the myriad of nature that surrounds the buildings. Each bedroom has its own entrance for extra privacy. They sit around a courtyard together with the Barn, amongst herbaceous boarders and mosaic paths. The hand made the beds are fitted with the highest quality mattresses and the underfloor heating and walk-in showers with eco-friendly products land you in the lap of luxury. All rooms are double occupancy/ you will be sharing.

Fern Ross

Yoga Instructor - Fern first discovered yoga in 2007, when she moved to London age 24, and was immediately hooked. Using it as a way to stretch out her muscles and counteract miles of daily cycling, she slowly began to – as many of those who initially come to yoga for the physical benefits do – find a deeper appreciation of the practice beyond the asana, leaving each class with a calmer mind and a stronger sense of self.  She firmly believes that yoga should be for everybody, and creates a safe space within which students can explore their edges and deepen their personal practice and understanding of their Self.

Lynne Fugard

Yoga Instructor - Lynne accidentally stumbled into a yoga class at her gym a few years ago, and immediately became an addict. Always playful and light-hearted, Lynne’s classes are creatively and intelligently sequenced to explore the body’s full range of motion with grace, ease, intention and curiosity. Underpinned by studies in philosophy and music, her warmth and compassion encourages students to reconnect with the physical, energetic and emotional experience of the body, working to effect transformational shifts at an energetic level: brightening, soothing, replenishing as needed. Particular attention is consistently paid to cultivating a powerful, smooth and calming breath, whilst taking delight in the interplay between invigorating challenge, soft release and blissful relaxation.
