At the Honor Oak Wellness Rooms, we want to help make your journey to motherhood as relaxing and comfortable as possible. As well as Chiropractic Care, we offer Pre & Post Natal Massage therapies, as well as specific Pre & Post Natal Yoga Classes. Read on for details about each of our services.

Women during pregnancy regularly seek chiropractic care. Common reasons pregnant mums-to-be visit include:

  • Lower back pain

  • Pelvic pain

  • Pubic pain

  • Neck pain

  • Leg pain

  • Chest pain

Our chiropractors utilise gentle and specific techniques to help alleviate pain and discomfort during pregnancy. We aim to release tension and help balance the pelvis and spine allowing the best environment for the baby during development and delivery.

After birth ligaments begin tighten as hormone levels start to return to normal, which increases the chances of misalignments of the spine and pelvis. Gentle adjustments and exercises are used to return the spine and pelvis back to normal working function.

Studies have shown that the addition of chiropractic care to standard obstetric care gives significant benefits regarding low back and pelvic girdle pain [1].

During pregnancy the body and mind undergo enormous changes. This may result in some physical complaints, i.e. backache, swollen ankles and other aches and pains as well as emotional stress in dealing with these changes. A pregnancy massage is a full body treatment which is specifically tailored to the needs of the pregnant woman and can help to ease some of the aches and pains whilst being deeply relaxing and nourishing.

Pregnancy massage is recommended after 12 weeks of pregnancy up until birth.

Post-natal massage is designed to help the new Mum's body recover from childbirth and to deal with all the new aches and pains caused by breastfeeding, carrying baby and equipment etc. The massage will be tailored to everyone's specific needs and is usually a full-body treatment. In these first few weeks and months when all the focus is on the new baby it is also a chance for Mum to be kind to herself and receive a nourishing and relaxing treatment.

It is suitable from 1 week after birth (4 weeks after a Caesarian section, depending on how well the scar is healing).

Pregnancy and Post-Natal Massage is available with Marion & Vivien throughout the week.

Unless you already have a regular and consistent practice with one of our teachers and have been cleared by your doctor to keep practicing we recommend not attending classes until 12 weeks for Pregnancy Yoga and 14 weeks for a general-level Yoga or Pilates class. This is due to the higher risk of miscarriage in the first Trimester. Please know that the teacher is within their rights to refuse you entry to class on grounds of safety.

A friendly and supportive space for mums and babies (crying babies welcome!) to come and share the highs and lows of matrescence (early motherhood).
Working with the Birthlight approach to postnatal yoga we will use breathing, movement, balance and relaxation to help mums ‘reclaim’ their bodies and nurture themselves. The practices are accessible to all women from 6 weeks postpartum (8-10 weeks with a cesaerean birth). Babies (up until crawling) also benefit with yoga, relaxed holds, movement and songs to aid digestion, soothe and entertain them. Both mother and baby are supported through the bonding process with plenty of opportunities for joyful and/or calming interactions and connections. Each class includes time for tea, cake and a chat.
Pre-booking and payment is necessary. £81 for a 6 week block of classes and you can book directly via
