A Small-Group Therapeutic Yoga Workshop with Dr Gillian Evans.
Do You Carry the Weight of the World in Your Upper Body?
For many of us, the cumulative effects of emotional stress, poor posture, sitting at a
desk for work all day, and too much screen time on the phone manifest as a familiar,
uncomfortable trio: tight shoulders, a stiff neck, and a clenched jaw. If you suffer from
chronic upper spine tension, tension headaches, or TMJ discomfort, conventional
stretching often only provides temporary relief.
Real, lasting release requires a deeper, more mindful approach.
Welcome to Anatomy in Motion. This specialized, three-hour workshop is designed
specifically to help you unravel deep-seated physical tension, reset your nervous
system, and reclaim freedom of movement and breath.
What Makes This Workshop Different?
This is not a typical, crowded yoga class. With only five spots available, this semi-
private intensive offers an intimate opportunity to benefit from the supportive
environment and personalized guidance of our resident and highly experience yoga
teacher – Dr Gillian Evans. You can find out more about Gillian and her unique
approach to alignment based yoga here: www.gillianevans.com
Over three immersive hours, Gillian will combine science and somatic mindfulness to
target the root causes of upper body stiffness:
Somatic Slow Exploration: Move away from forcing stretches. Instead, use
of gentle, slow somatic movements to re-educate your nervous system and
dissolve habitual tension patterns.
Gradual Physical Release: Use of supportive props to safely target and melt
away stubborn knots in the shoulders, upper spine, neck and jaw.
Release of the Breath: Learn how restriction in the upper body directly
impacts your breathing, and practice targeted breathwork to unlock the
diaphragm and soothe the nervous system.
Applied Anatomy Education: Gain a clear, practical understanding of how
your jaw, neck, and shoulders work together so you can identify your personal
posture triggers.
Take the Relief Home With You
Healing doesn't stop when you leave the studio. To ensure you maintain your
newfound spaciousness, you will leave with practical postural strategies and
targeted exercises that you can easily integrate into your daily routine.
